Everton Under-18 assistant manager Kieran Driscoll praised Martin Sherif after the forward struck in stoppage-time to secure his side a point in Saturday’s min-derby at Liverpool.
Leighton Baines’ side came into the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat in the FA Youth Cup against Watford on Monday night. However, they twice came from behind against Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's side to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to four games.
Kareem Ahmed opened the scoring for Liverpool after just five minutes before Sherif levelled things up five minutes before the break after he finished past Fabian Mrozek.

A moment of brilliance from Elijah Gift then fired the young Reds back ahead just before the hour mark. However, Sherif netted his second of the game late on when he finished after collecting Matthew Apter's through ball.
Sherif joined Everton aged 13 and has impressed in the club's Academy ranks over the past couple of years. The Dutchman has scored six times in 10 appearances so far this season.
“He’s growing into games, when there’s supply and he has composure he always looks like a goal threat," Driscoll said when asked about the forward.
"We have been working on his overall play, playing back to goal and so on. He had a chance to win it at the death, which he’ll be disappointed about, but on the whole, he’s doing well.”
And when asked about the draw, Driscoll told evertonfc.com: “I thought it was a pretty even game. We started okay, our build-up play and play through midfield was good. We just lacked quality in the final third.
"Their first goal came from our mistake, but it was a good performance on the whole, especially in the first half. There were good patterns in our play and we had decent chances."
