Everton close to agreeing deal for sale of Fraser Hornby

Everton are close to reaching an agreement with Stade de Reims for the sale of Fraser Hornby.

The 20-year-old striker has been the subject of interest from a number of European clubs but the Ligue 1 side are set to win the race for his signature.

Hornby will enter the final 12 months of his Everton contract next month and the Blues have taken the decision to sell the young striker.

Talks are understood to be ongoing between the two clubs but is now expected that Everton will agree on Hornby's transfer in a fee which is believed to be in the region of £1.8m.

Hornby has spent the season on loan with Belgium outfit KV Kortrijk but they chose not to exercise an option in that deal to buy the Scottish youth international.

And Stade de Reims are set to take advantage of that by agreeing to sign Hornby from Everton once the French transfer window – which has opened for domestic deals – allows for international transfers to be completed.
