Everton close in on deal to send midfielder to club managed by ex-Liverpool man

Everton are close to agreeing terms on a deal with Blackpool that would see Beni Baningime spend the season on loan with the League One club.

Baningime has two years left on his contract at Goodison and has been told he can spend next season away from the club.

Blackpool, managed by former Liverpool under-23s boss Neil Critchley, want the 21-year-old midfielder and talks are at an advanced stage.

Baningime was part of the first-team set-up at Everton following the Premier League's re-start in June but did not feature in any of the final nine games of the season.

The Academy product has been hampered by injury over the past couple of seasons but is back to full fitness and eyeing an uninterrupted campaign in the Football League next term.

Baningime has played 12 times for the Blues' first-team, getting his break during the 2017-18 season when David Unsworth took caretaker charge of the club following Ronald Koeman's sacking.

The midfielder was also used on a handful of occasions by Sam Allardyce later in that season.
