Everton chief's brilliant gesture to travelling Blues fans ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Everton chief Bill Kenwright has made a brilliant gesture to the travelling fans on their way to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues are looking to build on what was a fantastic 4-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday with an away victory against the Eagles at Selhurst Park.

And Marco Silva's side will also be looking to put the demons of their last away game firmly to bed, which was a severely disappointing 2-0 defeat to Fulham earlier this month.

Paul Merson forced into embarrassing climbdown over controversial comments about Everton star Richarlison

With that loss in mind, Everton's chairman has come up with a great gesture for those supporters travelling to Croydon on the official club coaches.

Kenwright left every fan travelling on the two coaches an envelope with the message, "With thanks, Chairman Bill" on them.

Inside each was £5, with the instructions for every supporter to buy themselves a drink ahead of Saturday's match against Crystal Palace.

A win at Selhurst Park could see Everton climb up two places to seventh if other results go their way.

The two sides currently directly above the Blues in the table, Watford and Wolves, play each other at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.
