Everton can move to brink of Premier League 2 title after rivals slip up

Everton received a boost in their hopes of winning the Premier League 2 title after a rival dropped points last night.

Brighton were hoping to keep the pressure on David Unsworth's side but needed a 92nd minute equaliser to salvage a point at home to Swansea City.

The Seagulls' 2-2 draw means Everton have a three point lead at the top of the table and know a win over Manchester City tomorrow (1pm) will put them within touching distance of a second title in three years.

Victory at the Etihad Campus would give the young Blues a six point lead with two games remaining but a superior goal difference means they would already be on the brink of success.

And following the game with City tomorrow, Everton welcome Brighton to Goodison on Monday, August 15 (7pm).
