Everton Bramley Moore stadium designer Dan Meis donates £1,000 to Speedo Mick's charity walk

Everton's stadium designer and architect Dan Meis has donated £1,000 to Speedo Mick's epic country-long walk for charity.

Diehard Blue Mick Cullen has been raising cash for good causes for years and is currently on the last leg of a John O'Groats to Land's End walk which he is due to complete on Saturday.

The Dovecot resident, 55, is well-known for his efforts to raise £250,000 for the charity he is setting up, which he says will help disadvantaged young people.

Called out on it on Twitter by @mickdev200, Meis admitted he had donated to Speedo Mick's cause by replying: "I figured he deserved the support for wearing the Speedo alone, nevermind the long walk!"

Earlier this week, fans called on Speedo Mick to be given a knighthood or the Freedom of Liverpool after he opened up on his troubled past which had included attempts to take his own life during his darkest days.

Also this week, Everton submitted a detailed planning application for a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock which Dan Meis has been instrumental in bringing to fruition.
