Everton boss Marco Silva provides update on Richarlison rib injury

Everton hope to learn the full extent of Richarlison's rib injury in the next 24 hours.

The Brazilian was forced off six minutes into the second-half of the Blues' game with Manchester United on Sunday.

Richarlison hurt his rib in the first period but battled through the pain to carry on after the break.

But the 21-year-old didn't last long before needing to be replaced by Theo Walcott.

Everton's players are due to return to Finch Farm on Tuesday at which point Silva hopes to know just how bad Richarlison's injury is - and if he will be a doubt for the game with Crystal Palace.

"Let's see what will be the assessment of our medical staff," Silva said.

"It is painful at the moment but we have to wait and see if he needs an examination to see what has happened with him.

"In two days we will know more about the situation but we hope it is nothing special but when Richarlison has to be out of a match that means he is in a really difficult position."

Marco Silva hails Everton performance as Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unsurprised by key statistic

Silva, however, insists the foot injury which forced Lucas Digne off with five minutes to go is "nothing special" and he is expected to be fit for the weekend's trip to south London.
