Everton boss Marco Silva provides injury update on Yerry Mina ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash

Everton manager Marco Silva has revealed that there is still uncertainty as to whether Toffees' defender Yerry Mina will be fit to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The Colombian defender was forced from the field of play in the 41st minute of Everton's Carabao Cup tie against Watford on Tuesday with a re-occurrence of a knee injury that saw him miss the last Premier League outing against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Although Mina's injury is not thought to be serious, Silva has reported that the 25-year-old is still in some discomfort with his knee.

The Everton manager has however refused to rule out his availability for the visit of Tottenham on Sunday.

"Let’s see," the manager said when asked about the player's availability, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

"Like I said after the match [against Watford], it’s nothing special there.

"We have made an exam again and there is nothing really serious there.

"He has a small pain so let’s see in the next few hours, the next few days if he will be able to play [at the weekend]."

Mina has been a mainstay in the Everton team so far this season, playing every Premier League minute up until the Brighton match last weekend.

Should the defender be unavailable, Mason Holgate is likely to take his place alongside Michael Keane in the back line.
