Everton boss Marco Silva offers update on Fabian Delph's fitness ahead of Bournemouth clash

Fabian Delph is expected to be passed fit for Everton's game with Bournemouth tomorrow despite providing Marco Silva with an injury scare.

The summer signing picked up an Achilles problem in the win over Wolves and was unable to train at Finch Farm last week.

But Delph has returned to training in the last few days and Silva is now confident the 29-year-old midfielder will come through a session this morning and be cleared to play at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

“He had a problem after the Wolves match,” Silva revealed.

“Unfortunately for us he didn't work all week after the Wolves match because it was an important moment for him.

“After the injury he had, then playing 70 minutes against Lincoln and after 90 minutes against Wolves – Wednesday, Sunday – it was tough for him because he didn't have many training sessions before and so it was important if he could keep doing the same during the international break.

“Unfortunately for us and for him he didn't do that because he had a small problem in his Achilles but he started to work with us this week, did so again yesterday and he is fit in this moment.”
