Everton boss Marco Silva looking to break unwanted record in season finale against Tottenham

Everton manager Marco Silva has insisted that Tottenham's midweek success won't affect their performance in the final Premier League game of the season.

Spurs reached the final of the Champions League on Wednesday after Loucas Moura's hattrick gave them a dramatic win over Dutch side Ajax.

But attentions now turn to more domestic matters as Everton visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the closing Premier League game of the campaign.

What Pep Guardiola has said about Liverpool and Spurs reaching the Champions League final

There were celebrations both on and off the pitch following the semi-final victory, but Silva insists that Tottenham players and staff will not be distracted from their Premier League encounter.

“They did well. They are living their dream but they are professional," he said during his pre-match press conference. “They have one game to play like us.

"Even if they’ve enjoyed the last few days, tomorrow they will be ready.

“They will have full confidence. Like the fans, the atmosphere will be fantastic.

“It’s a good game to finish. Finishing well is what we want."

Everton have beaten Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea at home in recent weeks, but the Toffees are yet to pick up three points away against one of the top six sides. Silva is hoping that his team will change that on Sunday.

The eight players Spurs set to be without for final Premier League game of the season vs Everton

“It’s one of the things we didn’t do this season [beat a team in the top six].

“We break some good records. Many times you asked me about records against the top six.

“This season we haven’t beaten one of them away. Now we can prove we can do this on Sunday.”
