Everton boss explains training ground changes as first-team pitch screened off

Marco Silva has explained his decision to erect screens around Everton's first-team training pitch.

And the Blues boss says his players have welcomed the change.

Parts of the main pitch at Finch Farm were open to public view from the car park and though Silva insists they had encountered no "issues" he felt it the right move to block the view into his training sessions.

"Because you are talking about the car park and if you are working near there it doesn't make sense if the people are in the car park," he told the ECHO.

"There were no issues but I think it is a normal thing.

"Maybe it is new here at Everton but if you look for all the biggest clubs in the world, they work in this way and I think the reception of the players was very good to the change.

"And if you are asking me, it doesn't make sense if we are working there and on one Friday morning, it can be seen what you are doing.

"It is not because we are doing something secret but have a look at all the training grounds of the big clubs and see what they are doing in this way."
