Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti repeats view on summer transfer target

Carlo Ancelotti has repeated his desire for Everton to strike a deal with AS Roma for the permanent signing of Robin Olsen.

The Blues signed Olsen on a season-long loan in October but Ancelotti soon made it clear that he wanted the Sweden international on a long-term deal.

Olsen recently returned to the side for games with Crystal Palace and Brighton after a "difficult time" with injury and a family ordeal after his home was targeted by a gang.

The 31-year-old has made 11 appearances in all competitions for Everton this season and put pressure on Jordan Pickford as the club's established first-choice goalkeeper.

And Ancelotti has, once again, talked about his hopes of Olsen becoming a permanent member of the squad this summer.

"Robin Olsen was back for the past two games after a difficult time," Ancelotti said.

"He is a fantastic guy and a really good goalkeeper.

"We like having him at Everton and hope this can continue."
