Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti addresses Wojciech Szczesny transfer rumours

Carlo Ancelotti has appeared to dismiss suggestions Everton are interested in signing Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny.

And the Blues boss is also reported to have said that if his side do not defeat West Ham United on Sunday then they can forget about qualifying for Europe.

Ancelotti, quoted by Corriere dello Sport - and cited by Sport Witness - has firmly batted away the idea of Everton moving for Juventus stopper Szczesny this summer.

The Blues boss has made it clear that he hopes to turn Robin Olsen's loan from AS Roma into a permanent deal.

Olsen is expected to be named in Sunday's matchday squad for the crunch game with West Ham.

And Ancelotti - who recently set his side a target of five wins to clinch European qualification - says defeat would spell the end of his side's chances with four matches left.

Ancelotti, who also talks glowingly about Roma's decision to appoint Jose Mourinho, is reported to have said: “I have the goalkeeper, it’s Pickford.

"Now I think only of West Ham: if we beat them on Sunday we return to Europe, if we lose we are out.”
