Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti addresses Mason Holgate transfer rumour

Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out any possible Everton exit for Mason Holgate this summer after links with a potential transfer to Man City.

The Blues defender has been in brilliant form this term and established himself as a starting centre-back in the side, keeping Michael Keane on the bench.

And the performances from the 23-year-old have reportedly attracted the eyes of other clubs, with Pep Guardiola's Man City linked.

However, Ancelotti had a firm response when asked about the rumours in his pre-Manchester United press conference.

He said: "I think it's a rumour, but if it's not a rumour I can say Mason Holgate is an important part of the future of Everton.

"There is no possibility he can go to another club.

"Zero possibility, like my friend [Jose] Mourinho says! Zero."
