Everton backroom staff member leaves club after 13 years of service

Paul Graley has left his role as Head of Performance Insights at Everton to take up a job at Rebel 54.

Graley, who first joined as a Performance Analyst in July 2009, before being promoted to Head of Performance Analysis three years later, has departed for pastures new after 13 years with the club.

During that time, Graley worked under David Moyes, Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman, Marco Silva, Carlo Ancelott i, Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard. He also worked closely with the club’s previous Director of Football, Marcel Brands, to deliver strategic change at the club.

Graley, a former University of Hull student, became Head of Performance Insights at Everton in December 2020.

One of his main responsibilities at the club was to establish Everton as a leading innovator in the use of modern analysis techniques and the latest technologies.

But Graley has now moved to sports and technology investment company Rebel 54 as Head of Data Insights, amending his LinkedIn profile to reflect the switch. The company claims to be backed by high-net-worth individuals, strategic investors and family offices from Europe and the US who wish to support and promote sports.

David Unsworth left the club in April and Everton - under new DoF Kevin Thelwell - are currently advertising for two separate positions of u-23 manager and Academy Director after the 48-year-old performed both roles before his departure.
