Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson believes the Gunners should do what it takes to bring Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin to the Emirates Stadium.
The England international has played just three Premier League games this season after missing the majority through injury but he is close to being back to fitness again.
Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was left out of the squad as Mikel Arteta's side beat Southampton on Saturday afternoon and the Gunners may be looking to replace their striker.
Calvert-Lewin scored 16 Premier League goals for Everton last season and his presence has been missed this term as Merson thinks he would catapult Arsenal into the running for the top four.

Here is how the dialect went between Merson and Jeff Stelling as the latter argued the case for Everton keeping their star striker.
“Arsenal need to go out and buy Calvert-Lewin as soon as he’s fit. Put in a massive bid for him because they need to focal point up front,” said Merson on Sky Sports News.
“Why would he go there?” asked Jeff Stelling.
“Because it’s Arsenal,” replied Merson.
“So what? Everton are a big club.”
“What? Bigger than Arsenal?”
“Why not?”
“Don’t just say why not. Tell me a reason why they’re a bigger club than Arsenal.”
“Well what are Arsenal achieving at the moment?”
“Arsenal are going to finish above them, if Calvert-Lewin comes then they’ve got a chance of finishing in the top four.”
“When Calvert-Lewin’s fit, Everton have a chance of finishing above Arsenal,” finished Stelling.
Alexandre Lacazette’s contract situation is unclear at Arsenal while Aubameyang 's future is now up in the air after being left out of the squad for disciplinary reasons.
