Everton appoint new assistant manager as Marco Silva is reunited with Luis Boa Morte

Everton have appointed Luis Boa Morte as the club's new assistant manager.

The 41-year-old replaces Marco Silva's long-time No2 Joao Pedro Sousa who has taken the reigns at Familicao in Portugal.

Boa Morte has signed a two-year deal.

Silva worked with Boa Morte when he managed Sporting Lisbon and says the former Arsenal forward is excited to be reunited with the Blues boss.

“I’m very happy to be joining Everton, a big club with so much history and tradition,” he said.

“I’m excited to be working again with the manager, Marco Silva, who is a great coach and I would like to thank him for providing me with such a big opportunity.

“I’m looking forward to meeting all the players and staff at the Club when we return for pre-season training next month and start the preparations for the 2019/20 Premier League season.”

Boa Morte joins Everton from Maccabi Haifa where he has been assistant manager.
