Everton announce transfer of striker as second summer sale

Everton have sold Fraser Hornby to Stade de Reims.

The club have tonight confirmed the departure of the 20-year-old striker for fee believed to be in the region of £1.8m.

Hornby spent last season on loan with Belgium side Kortrijk but they passed up on the option to turn the move into a permanent switch.

But the Everton under-23s forward has not been short of admirers and Reims have been leading the chase for his signature for the past few weeks and, this evening, his transfer has been completed.

Hornby follows Morgan Schneiderlin as the second player the Blues have sold so far this summer with the club looking to generate transfer funds through sales.
