Everton announce Rafa Benitez backroom staff as Duncan Ferguson role confirmed

Everton have confirmed the appointment of Rafa Benitez's backroom team as Duncan Ferguson's role has been revealed.

The coach will again take up a position as assistant manager, a role which he held under Carlo Ancelotti and alongside the Italian's son Davide.

This time the former Blues striker will be working alongside Francisco de Miguel Moreno under the new boss.

De Miguel Moreno joined Benitez’s Liverpool staff from 2007/08 and was subsequently with the manager at Inter Milan, Chelsea, Napoli, Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Dalian Professional in China.

Meanwhile, Antonio Gomez, a midfielder in Benitez’s Real Madrid youth teams, becomes the Club’s First Team Coach and Senior Analyst.

Further additions to the backroom team will be announced in due course.

The Blues initially announcement that the appointment of the Spaniard's staff would be made "in the coming days" following his confirmation as boss at the end of June.

However fans have been made to wait a little while longer, with the confirmation of the backroom team coming shortly before Benitez's first press conference as Everton manager.
