Everton announce big change for club's next General Meeting

Everton have confirmed the club's 2020 General Meeting will take place online for the first time.

A date is yet to be set for the event, with the last meeting taking place in January.

The venue usually chosen by the Blues is the Royal Philharmonic Hall, which has hosted every club General Meeting since 2013.

However, uncertainty over the availability of venues in the future due to the coronavirus pandemic has left Everton searching for another solution.

The move to an online solution will also ensure more shareholders will be able to attend and take part in the General Meeting - including all those living overseas.

John Blain, Chairman of the Everton Shareholders’ Association, said “These are difficult times and we’re delighted to be working alongside the club to not only ensure the General Meeting takes place in 2020 but that we do that in a manner that has the potential to significantly increase the number of Shareholders able to attend."
