Everton and Liverpool will soon find out who they face on the opening day of the Premier League season.
There is now less than a month to go before the start of the new campaign and the fixtures for the 20 clubs in the top-flight will be officially announced this week.
A quick turnaround from the last season, which was delayed due to the coronavirus crisis, adds a fresh challenge for the teams in the division, who have been unable to prepare as they usually would.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of the Premier League’s full fixture list but a leak may have indicated the opening fixtures for each team.
The Fantasy Premier League has gone live ahead of the 20/21 season and an eagle-eyed fan on social media spotted what appears to indicate the full round of opening day fixtures.
It’s suggested that the opening round of fixtures will include an eye-catching meeting of Manchester United against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Defending champions Liverpool are said to be kicking off their campaign on the road against West Ham, while Manchester City’s pursuit to snatch the crown from the Reds begins with the hosting of Crystal Palace.
Elsewhere, newly-promoted Leeds United hold their first top-flight fixture in 16 years by welcoming Newcastle United to Elland Road, while Fulham travel to Goodison Park to face Everton and West Brom host Burnley.
The only two teams not shown in the leak are Aston Villa and Tottenham, suggesting the pair will face off against each other, and another image circling on social media claims that the game will be held in north London.
It’s worth taking this ‘leak’ with a pinch of salt for now but we‘ll know soon enough with the full fixtures list expected within days.
