Liverpool have been drawn at home to League One side Shrewsbury Town in the third round of the FA Cup.
The Reds will be hopeful of going further in the competition than last season when they were knocked out by Manchester United at the fourth round stage.
Meanwhile, Everton will travel to Championship side Hull City.
The Toffees reached the quarter finals last season, losing 2-0 to Manchester City at Goodison Park.
The Blues will be aiming for a good cup run this term to boost what has been a disappointing season in the Premier League so far.
Third round matches will be played between 7 and 10 January.
