Everton and Liverpool combined starting line-ups are splitting opinion among supporters

Everton and Liverpool are preparing to meet in one of the most high-pressure Merseyside derbies in years.

The Toffees have enjoyed a perfect start to the season and will be looking to prove themselves against the reigning champions and fierce rivals Liverpool at an empty Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

Carlo Ancelotti's men have been the talk of the Premier League after four wins from as many games, but how many of their players would get into the Liverpool team and vice versa?

With the derby on the horizon, attempts at combined Everton and Liverpool XI have begun to drop.

And Everton fans will be pretty pleased with the Amazon Prime version, as many as seven Toffees making it into the XI.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, James Rodriguez, Richarlison, Allan, Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina and Michael Keane were all selected.

Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Mo Salah were the Liverpool representatives.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour selected a very different line-up on TalkSPORT.

He went for an all-Liverpool back five featuring Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Andrew Roberston.

In the midfield, he chose Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Everton star James.

Up top, Parlour picked Liverpool duo Salah and Sadio Mane, but he also included Calvert-Lewin.

Speaking about the England striker, he said: "In form, the way he is playing at the moment, Calvert-Lewin would maybe get a chance to play up front (in a combined XI)."

The Everton striker has scored nine goals in just six game so far this season, and he would make it into both combined XIs ahead of Reds striker Roberto Firmino, who is yet to get off the mark for the new campaign.
