Everton and Liverpool can make signings as Premier League transfer window opens

Everton and Liverpool can make moves in the summer transfer market from today with the window now open just one day after the Premier League season finished.

The footballing calendar has been disrupted by the coronavirus and the market is set to be impacted by the knock-on effect of that in terms of club's finances across the country and beyond.

But, nevertheless, links to plenty of player persist with the Reds and Blues.

Everton are the more likely to spend in the market, with links to the likes of Allan at Napoli.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have been heavily linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, though the ECHO understands that a move is not on the cards.

The transfer window will close on October 5, a few weeks after the new Premier League season begins on September 12.
