Carlo Ancelotti could have the "ideal opportunity" to hand Josh King his full Everton debut tomorrow.
Fresh from Monday night's 1-0 win over Southampton, the Blues head to West Bromwich Albion for their second game of the week.
Ancelotti has changed Everton's starting line-up for 22 consecutive league games this season and with a trip to Chelsea to follow, he is expected to shuffle his pack for the game at The Hawthorns.
And Royal Blue podcasters Dave Prentice and Adam Jones are both in agreement that King - who has been restricted to five appearances off the bench following his deadline day move from Bournemouth - should be given a chance from the start against the Baggies.
"If ever he is going to start a game, then this is an ideal opportunity," Prentice said on the latest edition of the show.
"It's only a three day turnaround and Calvert-Lewin put an awful lot of effort in that game. Richarlison was getting kicked from pillar to post, so if ever there was a chance to leave either of them out, briefly...
"Carlo has said many times that he thinks King is ready to start a game and that we will see him start a game but as every game goes he doesn't seem to get that opportunity."
Jones is also on board with the idea of giving Calvert-Lewin a breather but says the game will hinge on service to the front-line.
He said: "With this being a congested period, we are going to need Calvert-Lewin at the top of his game for that Chelsea match, which could be crucial in terms of the Champions League and Europe.
"So I agree this could be the perfect opportunity for King to go and prove himself.
"But it's more about how we create the chances than anything else. Carlo could put King through the middle with two wingers and James in behind him."
