Everton and Brazil star Richarlison is hometown hero after heartwarming random act of kindness

Everton star Richarlison has made an overwhelmingly generous donation to help children from his hometown in Brazil.

Pupils from a school in the winger's hometown of Venue Nova Venecia needed to raise over £10,000 in order to fund a once in a lifetime trip to Taiwan to take part in a mathematics tournament.

In order to participate in the competition the team must send three students and one teacher.

And in a plea on Twitter one of the teachers from the school tagged Richarlison in a post requesting his help.

The Brazil international responded to the call as he replied to confirm he was in contact with the school.

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte have reported Richarlison has kindly put forward the money, proving himself as a real hometown hero.

The 22-year-old is part of the Brazil squad who kick off their Copa America campaign against Bolivia on Saturday.
