Everton already have perfect summer signing if Rafa Benitez gives him a chance

Moise Kean is back at Finch Farm.

The Italian returns to step up pre-season training having watched Everton beat Accrington Stanley in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday, but questions still loom over his future.

Kean spent last season on loan at PSG notching up 13 goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances - 12 from the start - while adding three goals in the Champions League.

The former Juventus man has hinted he wants to return to PSG, with the Blues already rejecting a loan move from the Parisians and ruling out a temporary switch this summer, but Everton should doing all they can to convince him to stay for the long-term.

Granted, he played 31 times in his one and only season to date at the Blues in the Premier League - scoring twice.

However, 25 of those appearances were from the bench and he wasn’t given much time to impact games and at such a young age in the Premier League it can be an impossible task.

He showed flashes of real quality when on the pitch with his direct running style and willingness to get a shot off even in tight spaces.

And one thing the Blues really lacked last season was someone who was willing to run at the opposition and carry the ball and the team upfield before producing quality at the end. Kean has shown in glimpses he has the ability to do that.

It’s clear the Blues need some creative reinforcements this summer but you also need players who can stick the ball in the net regularly when give the opportunity. And besides Calvert-Lewin, Everton didn't have a whole lot of options.

Having a player around of Kean's quality is vital if Everton are to progress next season and with a fresh start under Rafa Benitez, as well as a successful loan at a big club under his belt, the Toffees could see a different player to the one that toiled two seasons ago.

He’s scored goals for PSG and Juventus at the highest level but he’s not good enough for the 10th best team in the Premier League?

That can’t be right.

The Blues have made several mistakes in the transfer market over the last few years but they still have time to make good on this one.
