Everton officials are discussing the possibility of a summer move for Rafael Leão.
The Lille forward is on a shortlist of transfer targets as the Blues look to boost their forward line options.
Leão, 19, joined the French club in August in a free transfer after quitting Sporting Lisbon in the wake of the squad being attacked by a group of fans.
And after hitting seven goals and providing two assists in Ligue 1 this term, the Portuguese youth international has attracted the attention of Everton.
Leão, a Portugal under-20s team-mate of Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia, is being talked about by Blues' chiefs as the club prepare for another overhaul.
Last summer, with reported interest from Manchester City, the young attacker was valued at £17m.
Director of football Marcel Brands is once again tasked with reducing Everton's wage bill, whilst also improving on the squad, in the close season.
Everton are expected to target a second forward if they can offload Cenk Tosun.
Tosun was made available for sale in January for £20m but Everton only received offers to take him on loan.
But if the Turkey international can be sold this summer then the Blues are likely to look for a more experienced frontman to complement the addition of Leão or another young forward.
