Two British tourists have been fined more than £600 each after a night of debauchery in an Australian theme park. While there, they kidnapped a penguin, dived into a pool of dolphins and let off a fire extinguisher in a shark enclosure. Rhys Owen Jones, 21, and Keri Mules, 20, woke up the next morning, stunned to see a seven year old fairy penguin called Dirk waddling around their apartment. In a panic they released the bird back into a nearby canal. "Can't believe ... penguin in our apartment, man ... we stole a penguin," one of the men says in a video they filmed the morning after.
Sentencing the two young men the magistrate said: "You could have found yourselves in a morgue if you'd gone into the wrong enclosure. Perhaps next time you are at a party you will consider drinking a little less vodka."
