Event to help parents talk about Parkland shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ A counseling service in Boca Raton is offering a free event for parents on how to talk to your children in the aftermath of the Parkland shooting.

The workshop at Faulk Center for Counseling, which is free and open to the public on Feb. 21, 11 a.m.-noon, will provide guidance for parents on how to help their children process the tragedy, according to the event announcement.

It will also help parents with steps to restoring a sense of safety for their children and include tips for managing their own anxiety.

The discussion, presented in partnership with the Junior League of Boca Raton, will allow time for questions and comments from audience participants.
