Think you know your bourbon from your rye? Or your sour mash from your standard malt?
The Evening Standard will be exploring the world of American whiskey in the first edition of its new series of exclusive tasting experiences.
The Speakeasy series will immerse guests in the stories of different spirits and drinks in a run of expert-led events, kicking off on February 13.
The sessions will be led by world-class specialists in the field, including master distillers, master blenders and brand ambassadors, who will lead attendees in classes aimed at both novices and seasoned connoisseurs.
The American evening – at a location soon to be announced – will feature a four-hour masterclass on a variety of whiskeys, featuring tastings, specially paired food and entertainment designed to complement each style.
Guests will also receive a welcome drink on arrival, a gift to take away and the opportunity to purchase exclusive and high-end American whiskeys.
The Speakeasy series, which are set to run monthly, will run further tastings for rum, gin and tequila.
