In the aftermath of recent disasters such as the earthquake in Nepal, or the Ebola epidemic, countries have struggled to get back on their feet. As climate catastrophes and health epidemics continue to unfold, the communities are faced with rebuilding social and physical infrastructure.
The Guardian, alongside Crown Agents Foundation, is bringing a panel of experts for an evening seminar to discuss the most effective means of giving disaster-stricken countries support.
As a catastrophe unfolds, how do you give the right support so that minimal damage is done to infrastructure and social cohesion, and what areas should be prioritised once serious re-construction can begin? With recent coalitions of disaster relief organisations, where does our collective responsibility end?
The date of this seminar has been moved from the original date 7 October 2015 to 13 January 2016. Further details of panelists will be announced in due course, and public registration for this rescheduled event will open shortly.
