Solskjaer message
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned that no one will remember how the Premier League looked in January ahead of a big week for his side.
United could go top of the Premier League on Tuesday if they avoid defeat to Burnley ahead of an eagerly-anticipated trip to Liverpool at the weekend.
Solskjaer has played down the importance of this week's games, however, arguing his side will need to maintain performance levels either way.
"I think it’s great that our fans are excited and that they’re happy with where we are at and that we have this little sense of excitement," said Solskjaer.
"But then we’re not even halfway through the season so, of course, every game against Burnley, every game against Liverpool matters a lot anyway.
"For me, all my eyes are on Tuesday and then let’s see where we’re at after that one.
"We’re not even halfway through the season yet and every game in the Premier League is a challenge, is a test, every game is a different test.
"Watford, they gave us a test (in the FA Cup), Burnley is one test, Liverpool is another, then you go to Fulham, which is a different test again.
"No one will remember how the league table looked like on January 12 in 2021."
Accounts expectations
Liverpool saw an increased turnover to over £550m with a profit of £42m in their last set of accounts - but there have been warnings that this figure will dip due to the coronavirus pandemic.
European accountancy firm KPMG's report into the financial impact of the pandemic on the six winners of Europe's biggest league point to the Reds seeing a drop in operating profit of £42.1m to a total of £502m.
Last season's early exit from the Champions League also meant a drop in broadcast revenues and prize money, whilst the inability to welcome fans to Anfield has also hit numbers.
Yet there are key areas of growth, such as in commercial activity, with the new Nike deal and new sponsorship deals.

Maguire concerns
Manchester United face a major disciplinary issue ahead of facing Liverpool this weekend.
Captain Harry Maguire is walking a disciplinary tightrope ahead of the game at Anfield, with the defender just one booking away from a suspension.
With Man United set to face Burnley on Tuesday, Maguire needs to avoid a booking in order to make sure he is not suspended for the clash.
He has so far accrued four bookings in 16 Premier League games.
