‘Even KRK could probably act better’: Journalist-turned-actor Saurabh Dwivedi trolled over acting in Saif Ali Khan’s Netflix film Kartavya

Netflix released Kartavya starring Saif Ali Khan on May 15. While the film has received largely positive reactions on X, journalist-turned-actor Saurabh Dwivedi has found himself at the centre of online criticism over his performance.

Several X users mocked his acting, calling it “bland” and comparing his dialogue delivery to someone reading out a news script.

“Saurabh Dwivedi was a bad journalist. Now he became actor. He acted so badly that people are saying he was better off as a journalist. His acting was so poor that they cut his climax scene. Even KRK could probably act better than him,” one user wrote.

Another user commented that he “acted in such a way that now people are saying — bro, for the love of God, please spare acting from now on.”

A third wrote, “Saurabh Dwivedi’s dialogue delivery in the movie feels very average.”

All about Kartavya

In Kartavya, Saif Ali Khan plays Pawan, an honest police officer posted in the village of Jhamli. The story begins after a journalist investigating a child abuse racket linked to a spiritual cult is murdered.

Suspicion falls on Anand Shri, played by Saurabh Dwivedi, while a teenager connected to the case mysteriously disappears. Alongside the investigation, Pawan also faces tensions within his family after his brother elopes with a girl from another caste.

The film has a runtime of around 147 minutes and is currently streaming on Netflix.
