Chelsea FC have one of the best young players in the world in Callum Hudson-Odoi, a fact that seems to be clear to just about everyone except Chelsea’s manager, Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea struggled to beat relegation-bound Cardiff on Sunday, needing an offside goal that wasn’t called and a late header from Ruben Loftus-Cheek to hang on and win 2-1. Someone who didn’t play in the game Hudson-Odoi, who, again, is one of the very best young players in the world.
Chelsea fans have been pulling their hair out for months about Sarri’s refusal to trust Hudson-Odoi, and you can add a new name to the list of people who are befuddled by the whole thing: Texans DE JJ Watt.
JJ Watt gets it! JJ Watt is an American football player and not, as far as I know, the soccer manager of a top international club. (He might be on the side, he is a very accomplished person and seems to get a lot done on the regular.)
Anyway, Watt is right. Callum Hudson-Odoi should be playing soccer, mostly so we can watch him, but also because Chelsea doesn’t seem to be doing all that well without him.
