Even Hillary Clinton can't escape annoying LinkedIn emails, leaked messages show

If you're an adult on the internet in 2015, chances are you get bombarded with emails inviting you to join someone's 'professional network' on LinkedIn hundreds of times a day.

The old days of constant penis enlargement spam and messages from deposed Nigerian princes may be over, but LinkedIn emails continue to clog up our inboxes.

And as more and more of Hillary Clinton's private emails are released amidst ongoing controversy over the issues of a high-ranking politician using a private email server instead of a government one, it's become clear that even the former secretary of state isn't immune from LinkedIn invitations.

Among the latest tranche of emails released by the New York Times is a series of messages spotted by Business Insider showing Clinton's confused reaction to an unsolicited LinkedIn email.

Clinton was invited to connect by a woman called Susan Kennedy, former chief of staff for Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was governor of California.
