Evangelos Marinakis to pay for coach travel to QPR to say thanks to Nottingham Forest fans for their backing

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis will personally fund coach travel to QPR, as a gesture of thanks to supporters for their backing this season.

Fans who have purchased tickets for the official coach travel to Loftus Road will all be refunded in the next few days.

More than 2,000 fans are heading to the capital for the final Championship away game of the season.

And, with the Reds having averaged 2,140 travelling fans in their league games during the campaign, the owner wanted to give something back to supporters.

Why Costel Pantilimon would be happy to be a casual observer for Nottingham Forest again, at Loftus Road

An official statement from the club said: “As a thank you for the fantastic support shown by Nottingham Forest's away fans this season, the club's owner Evangelos Marinakis will be reimbursing all those who have paid for official coach travel for tomorrow's game at Queens Park Rangers.

“The commitment and dedication shown by Forest supporters this season has seen The Reds average 2,140 fans across their 23 Sky Bet Championship away games with the highest away following coming at Derby County.

“For supporters who bought their official coach travel online or via our phone lines, the ticket office will begin the process of refunding you tomorrow with your payment returning to your bank account within the next 3-5 working days.  However, if you purchased your official coach travel in person, you will need to visit the ticket office to request your refund.”

Martin O’Neill’s side will hope to sign off with a first away win since November and with what would potentially be their first back-to-back league win since September.
