Evangelos Marinakis receives huge financial boost after keeping Nottingham Forest promise

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis delivered on his promise of investing heavily in signings to compete in the 2022/23 Premier League season in the summer transfer window.

Forest made 23 signings in the summer following their promotion from the Championship and lengthy absence from the English top-flight. Despite a mixed start in the Premier League, Steve Cooper has been backed throughout and was handed a fresh deal which will see him in charge at the City Ground until 2025.

Speaking about the club's plans following promotion, Marinakis said in May: "I want to give him the players that make him even happier to achieve big results and to make all these fantastic fans happy. We will give Steve and his team all the ammunition he needs in order to be competitive next season and will try not only to maintain our position in the Premier League, but to perform well because the sky is the limit."
