Evan Ferguson feature for Sky Sports filmed at St Kevin's Football Club

Sky Sports News popped into St Kevin's Football Club this week to film material for an upcoming feature on Evan Ferguson.

Melissa Reddy and Jamie Downer of Sky Sports were in town on Wednesday to get a feel for the club which nurtured Ferguson's potential as a youngster.

In a post published on the St Kevin's official Facebook page, the club thanked Reddy and Downer for paying a visit to chat about one of their most famous past stars.

"A huge thank you to @MelissaReddy_ and @jamiedowner1 from @SkySportsNews for calling into the club to do a feature on @Evan_Ferguson9 today. Looking forward to see the full interview with Evan soon," read the post.

The teen sensation has taken the Premier League by storm this season, but before moving to Brighton, he played for St Kevin's as a youngster.

A brief stint with league of Ireland side Bohemians followed before Ferguson made the move to England.

The Bettystown native has enjoyed a meteoric rise and is now a regular at Premier League level.

On the international stage, the 18-year-old has made four appearances for Ireland and scored his first goal in the green shirt during Ireland's 3-2 win over Latvia at the Aviva Stadium last month.

Ferguson started in Brighton's 2-1 win over Chelsea last week and rattled the crossbar with a thunderous strike before being withdrawn before half-time with an injury.

He is now a doubt for the Seagulls FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United at Wembley this weekend.
