Eurydice Dixon: Man jailed for life for park rape and murder of aspiring comedian in Melbourne

A man who stalked, raped and murdered an aspiring comedian was today sentenced to life in prison.

The killing of Eurydice Dixon, 22, in a Melbourne park in June last year was described by Victorian Supreme Court Justice Stephen Kaye as “depraved” and “totally and categorically evil”.

Jaymes Todd, 20, must serve a minimum of 35 years in jail before he can apply for parole.

Outside court, Ms Dixon’s father Jeremy Dixon said he was glad a killer was off the streets.

“Eurydice herself should be remembered, as her friends will remember her, for her wit and her courage and for her kindness, not for her death,” he said.
