Eurovision viewers react to Ireland's Linda Martin discussing 1992 victory during points delivery

Ukraine stole the show during last night's Eurovision and after their act Kalush Orchestra scored a whopping 631 votes to win the competition.

Named after the Ukrainian city of Kalush, they are a six-person hip-hop band that uses folk instruments.

Their track Stefania is a tribute to frontman Oleh Psiuk’s mother, although emotive lyrics such as "I will always walk to you by broken roads" have been re-interpreted as a rallying cry.

The United Kingdom finished second with 466 points while Spain came in third 459 points.

Irish Eurovision icon Linda Martin delivered our points from Dublin last night.

The 70-year-old won the competition back in 1992 with hit song "Why me?".

And while announcing the Irish jury's 12 points, the singer reminded everyone of her triumph in Sweden 30 years ago.

She said: "Greetings from Dublin. Good luck to all of the contestants tonight because I fondly remember my own win in Malmo 30 years ago, so enjoy it all."

Viewers were quick to react to Linda's points delivery online, with one person tweeting: "Going to be hard to top Linda Martin giving her Eurovision win in the 90's a shout out over world peace. Some woman."

Another said: "Linda Martin looking beautiful tonight at Eurovision! Legend!"

A third wrote: "“Linda Martin reminded everyone of her win 30 years ago."

A fourth said: "Linda Martin, what a legend."
