Eurovision legend Johnny Logan has issued a public apology to Dickie Rock following their spat last weekend.
Logan, 63, extended the olive branch to the musician after he claimed the 82-year-old lived in a fantasy world.
Using Liveline on RTE One to get his message out, the Hold Me Now hitmaker said he hopes their friendship will be okay.
He said: “Last week I did an interview with The Times (Irish Times) newspaper in which I was asked to make a comment on a statement Dickie had made.
“I told the reporter that it was none of her business, which was fair enough, but then went on to make some remarks about Dickie, which at the time I meant jokingly.
“I regret those remarks and now I apologise to Dickie.
“Dickie and I have been friends for many years and I hope that no lasting damage has been done to our friendship.
“He’s an Irish icon and has my respect.”
And luckily, Dickie was quick to accept the apology.
He said: “Johnny Logan was and still is a gentleman and a great performer.
“We were all friends in this crazy business and we still will be going forward.”
The row began after Logan made some throwaway comments about Rock in an interview last week, making out that he thought he was a legend in his own head.
Rock was quick to snap back, saying he’d give him a box.
In the interview, Logan said: “What would Dickie Rock know about being a musician?” My life was a lot different from Dickie’s. Dickie’s idea of an international tour was to have a gig in England.”
He also said that Rock is a “legend in his own head”, and that he lives in a fantasy world.
Rock then replied, saying: “Give Johnny a hug? I’d give him a f**king box. I’m 82. Even now I’d give him a box.”
