Eurovision star James Newman's epic takedown of Piers Morgan amid explosive spat

J ames Newman completely shutdown Piers Morgan in their Twitter spat.

The singer got zero points when he performed at the Eurovision Song Contest sparking upset across the nation.

Twitter exploded with a spat as Piers blamed the Eurovision Song Contest star for the UK coming last and being "crap" over the weekend.

But the star didn't let the vicious comments slide as he cheekily took a swipe at the outspoken TV personality.

He wrote back: "Hey Piers sorry you didn’t like the song, at least I didn’t storm out! #Eurovision."

Of course James put Piers down over his own controversial move to storm off Good Morning Britain over a spat about Meghan Markle.

Just hours after storming out, Piers quit the breakfast TV show and refused to apologise to the Duchess of Sussex for his comments.

His criticisms of Meghan and Prince Harry have continued to cause a stir online.

But over the weekend, Piers reserved some of his cruel comments for James.

In a stinging tweet, he blasted the "crap song", "crap singer" and "crap performance" on the dazzling night hosted at Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam in Holland.

He wrote: "The UK didn't get 'nul points' in the Eurovision Song Contest because of some sinister revenge for Brexit.

"We got 'nul points' because we had a crap song, performed by a crap singer who gave a crap performance. End."

The UK failed to score a single point from the judging panel and voting public in the hotly-anticipated singing competition over the weekend.

Our entry James, who is the brother of famous singer John Newman, failed to impress a single person with his performance of his song Embers.

Some suggested it was "revenge" for Brexit but the outspoken presenter had no qualms saying he didn't think that was the reason why the UK did so badly.

The UK dropped to the bottom of the leader table with 3,500 fans watching on at the venue.

Italy took home the winning trophy as Maneskin secured 524 points on the night.

Next year will be hosted in Italy in line with the Eurovision Song Contest's tradition.

France landed second place and Switzerland was just behind them in third.
