Eurovision Song Contest 2019 fans claim British entrant Michael Rice is really Craig from Corrie

Eurovision fans watching the 2019 finale were left nonplussed by the British entrant Michael Rice - and it wasn't because of his song.

The 21-year-old from Hartlepool represented Great Britain in this year's musical sing-off, held in Israel after Netta's victory in 2018 with the song Toy.

Michael performed Bigger Than Us in the arena, a track co-written by the Swedish entrant who decided to perform something else.

But while some fans speculated whether Michael was delivering a coded message about Brexit , others simply questioned whether Michael Rice was Michael Rice at all, but actually a star turn from Craig Tinker on Corrie.

One said: "Did anyone else know that Craig from Coronation Street was representing UK in #EurovisionSongContest?"

Others agreed that "Craig from Corrie is doing great!" and it was "nice to see Craig off Corrie has another string to his bow".

But others suggested Michael had nothing to do with The Cobbles at all asking: "Isn't this the star rep from Ibiza Uncovered?"

While someone else claimed he reminded him of the American YouTuber James Charles.
