Eurovision quiz - can you guess the European country by its flag?

Having waved our Union Jack flags last week during our (socially distanced) VE Day celebrations, we’re now gearing up to wave the flags representing our favourite Eurovision entries this weekend.

While this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled, there are still plans to celebrate the big event this weekend with a number of alternative shows - because not even lockdown will stop us from having some virtual Eurovision fun.

Diehard Eurovision fans may well know that Conchita Wurst represented Austria in 2014 while Dima Bilan won for Russia in 2008, but how many of us could confidently say we’re able to point out the flags of those countries?

Well, it just so happens that we’ve stumbled upon a tough quiz that challenges our European flag knowledge.

According to Emerald Waterways, who have put the test together, only ten per cent of people have been able to score full marks.

As Eurovision fans love a good scoring system, the river cruise provider says that people under the age of 25 have been able to score highest in the quiz with an average mark of 12 out of 15.

Millennials scored the lowest with an average seven points but that’s still a whopping seven points more than what Jemini were able to score when they represented the UK in 2003 (small victories, eh).

Think you know your Belgium from your Greece? Have a go below by clicking 'View Fullscreen'.

If you can't see the quiz on your device, click 'display interactive content'.

Once you have completed the test and got your score, you can check how you performed with the answers below.

But no cheating, or you'll score an automatic 'nil poi' from our professional jury.

Answers:

1. A - Portugal, 2. D - Hungary, 3. C - Belgium, 4. D, 5. D, 6. B, 7. A, 8. B, 9. B, 10. B.
