Eurovision legend Dana to make pop comeback at age of 67

Eurovision star Dana is making a pop comeback at the age of 67.

The Irish singer became an international star by winning the song contest with All Kinds Of Everything in 1970.

But she has just recorded an album of new tracks in Rome, with the mum-of-four saying: “This is an unexpected, wonderful experience.

“I’m no spring chicken. I remember being shocked in my 20s when Debbie Harry was recording at 33. So the idea of being nearly 70 and singing is amazing.”

Dana, along with other celebs such as Les Dennis, meets the Pope in tonight’s BBC Two documentary Pilgrimage: The Road To Rome.

Last September, when filming the programme, she was teamed with comedian Stephen K Amos.

Dana said: “I told him I’d been asked to go back in the studio but I didn’t know if I should or could.

“He said, ‘Just enjoy it’. All my anxieties just went away.”
