Eurovision 2023: How long does Eurovision last on BBC? Start and finish time

The Eurovision Song Contest grand final is officially here after what feels like the longest countdown. The famous competition is taking place in Liverpool in 2023, on behalf of last year's winners Ukraine, on Saturday, May 13.

As always, Eurovision will be broadcast on the BBC so those unable to get tickets can tune in to see and cheer on all 26 acts from the comfort of their own homes. The grand final follows on from two semi-finals which aired on the channel Tuesday, May 9, and Thursday, May 11. You can see the full list of qualifying countries here.

The 2023 competition will kick off this weekend with viewers able to tune into BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 8pm on Saturday. This year the competition will be hosted by the lovely semi-final presenters Hannah Waddingham, Alesha Dixon, and Julia Sanina, alongside Graham Norton who is on both presenting and commentating duties on the big night, with Mel Giedroyc also providing commentary.

Mae Muller is this year's UK entry with her track I Wrote A Song, and while Austria is opening the competition, Mae is last in the running order, meaning viewers will have to wait a while to see her on stage. But when does Eurovision finish? This is how long it will be on screens so you don't miss a thing.

What time does Eurovision 2023 start and finish?

Eurovision kicks off on Saturday, May 13 at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Viewers will be able to watch the broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds. BSL translation will be available during the live show via BBC iPlayer.

The competition will run for four hours, ending at midnight when this year's winner will be announced. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
