Eurovision 2022: How to vote for your favourite act and can you vote for UK act Sam Ryder?

We'll try and keep this simple, because the Eurovision voting system is quite complicated and the winner is determined by a combination of judge's votes and public votes.

Unfortunately, fans in the UK cannot vote for the UK representative, Sam Ryder, who is performing the track Space Man. Find out more about Sam, here and follow Eurovision 2022 live results as countries and viewers decide. If you want to liven it up a bit, there's a Eurovision drinking game here.

How do you vote?

Fans can vote over the phone, by text or via the Eurovision app, available on devices including iOS, Android and Windows. Each person can vote up to 20 times but voters will be unable to select their own country’s entry. The voting window opens after the last song has been performed, and ends 15 minutes later. These votes determine 50% of the outcome and are gathered by the EBU’s voting partner Digame.

You can see the numbers you'll need to vote for your chosen country, on screen after the performances. In all participating countries, televoters and professional juries will each award 1 to 8, 10, and 12 points.

Here you can see five things banned from Eurovision and read the story of the 2021 winners and why they had to do a drug test after their victory.
