Eurovision 2021: UK viewers have really missed Graham Norton

Graham Norton is back for Eurovision, laughing at his own commentary and serving up sarky quips married with gentle ribbing of the quirky Eurovision contenders.

And viewers have taken to social media to say how much they have missed the Irish comedian and presenter. Last year's competition was cancelled due to the pandemic and Eurovision fans are glad to have his amusing and knowledgeable commentary as they watch the 26 acts perform.

Norton has done the commentary since 2009 when he took over from national treasure and fellow Irish treasure, Terry Wogan.

This year he was off to a flying start, making fart jokes about Albania's stage set up and Carol Vorderman references as the singer bared a vague resemblance.

MsArleneB said: "Graham Norton makes Eurovision so much more bearable!"

Dr_R_Acres said: "And Feels like a breath of relief: the slight return to normalcy of #Eurovision. Saturday night, takeaway and Graham Norton's pithy commentary (he's no Terry Wogan but he's got so much better with time!). I've missed this!"

This year James Newman will represent the UK with his song entry Embers. In 2019 the UK contestant was Michael Rice with Bigger Than Us, but unfortunately he came in last place.
