Eurovision presenter Graham Norton has lashed out after the UK came bottom of the points table.
The Irish TV star raged over the UK’s “unfair” result after 21-year Michael Rice bagged just 16 points, putting him at the bottom of the barrel in this year’s competition.
Michael, from Hartlepool was hoping to replicate the success of Katrina and The Waves, who last won the competition for the UK in 1997.
However, while Michael’s performance was a hit with the British public during the selection rounds in February, he failed to impress the rest of the competing nations with his song “Bigger Than Us” in the Tel Aviv final.
The song was co-written by Sweden’s entry John Lundvig, who chose to go with a different song during the Swedish selection process, offering up the track to the UK instead.
While Michael avoided the dreaded “nil points” from the nation’s European neighbours, he stood at just 150/1 to win the competition tonight.

As well as his withering put-downs of the singers representing the other 26 European countries in the competition, he could not resist taking a snarky dig at Madonna as she hit the stage for her first ever Eurovision performance.
The pop icon donned a bizarre pirate-style eyepatch and two long braids for her segment, telling the Israeli hosts: “I’m bringing the heat tonight!”
Graham quipped: “"Madonna, what a trooper, still showing up despite a nasty case of conjunctivitis.
